Kristi brings a different aspect to the arts.... she has the ability to reach hundreds of people through her art of blogging. I know...blogging?? What kind of art is that?? LOL...well, once you visit Krisiti's blog, you will know exactly what I mean! Beyond that, she isn't so bad at photography either. On this page you will discover some of her most reasont images that she captured on her most recent visit to Jamaica. Trying to capture the true heart of Jamaica and it's wonderful people.
Her blog stretches every aspect of the island of Jamaica. It not only reaches the typical tourist wanting to travel to the beautiful island, but she also reaches out and has the ability to relate to many Jamaicans themselves. Heck, if she would've told me that she is from Jamaica, I would've probably believed her.
Her addiction to Jamaica started in March 2003 when she won a trip to Negril through a local radio station where she resides. In that short five day trip she met one person and saw enough outside the resort that she knew this was not the end of it. Two months later she found herself back in Jamaica staying in the countryside in a local Jamaican community.
Several years and many trips later, she seems to out do herself everytime for finding the most intriguing people and places on the island. For her, the key has been to put herself on their level and be able to “fit” into any situation as if she was a natural part of it, never seeing herself as an outsider. Kristi has tremendous respect for the Jamaican people and their culture with a constant thirst to find out as much as possible about daily life off the beaten path.
Kristi's Blog, "Jamaica My Way", is her way of sharing all of her experience in hopes that others can discover the hidden beauty of Jamaica and its people. The point of this blog is to tell you how she has “done” Jamaica over the years. This means you won’t find any all-inclusive information and there will be no sun tanning stories. You will find out about how to get around for less, stay for less, see more, meet Jamaican people, experience Jamaican culture, and eat the best food.
One of the most profound subjects on her blog is about a very special Jamaican that she had the privilege to meet last Nov. This man has indured some of lifes harshes obstacles, and with the help of Kristi and friends, they are making a difference. This story is an amazing one that I hope all that read this article will consider reading. You can read more by click here.
